1. Membership & Eligibility
Membership in The Mississippi Walleye Clubis open to any individual who shares an interest in the sport of fishing, regardless of skill level or experience.

Non-Discrimination: We welcome all individuals regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or national origin.

Minors: While open to all, participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a consent form and must be accompanied by an adult during club events.

Registration: Membership becomes active upon the completion of our registration form and, if applicable, the payment of annual dues.

Expectations: By joining, members agree to uphold the principles of fair play, environmental conservation, and mutual respect for fellow anglers.

2. Tournament Rules & Participation

Compliance: All participants must possess a valid fishing license and follow all local, state, and federal wildlife and boating regulations.

Registration Deadlines: Deadlines for the tournament entries must be submitted and paid for the Thursday prior to the prior to the event start date as directed by the Tournament Director via email, text messages, and/or social media posts.

Sportsmanship: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for cheating, harassment, or unsafe boating practices. Violation of these rules may result in immediate disqualification and termination of membership.

3. Liability

Assumption of Risk: Participants acknowledge that fishing and boating are inherently risky activities. By joining the club or entering a tournament, you agree to release the Mississippi Walleyee Club from any liability regarding personal injury or property damage.

Equipment: Boat owners are responsible for ensuring their vessels meet all safety requirements (life jackets, fire extinguishers, etc.) and carry adequate insurance.

4. Media & Photo Release
Tournament organizers often want to post photos of the “big catch” on social media.

Grant of Rights: State that by participating, members grant the club permission to use their likeness (photos/videos) for promotional purposes without compensation.

5. Prizes & Payouts

Eligibility: Only members in good standing are eligible for tournament prizes.

Disputes: All catch measurements and weigh-ins will be verified by a club official. In the event of a dispute, the Tournament Director’s decision is final.

Taxes: Prize winners are solely responsible for any applicable taxes on cash or physical prizes.

6. Prohibited Activities

Cheating: Explicitly state that any form of cheating (e.g., altering or falsifying fish, using illegal bait, or fishing in restricted areas) will lead to immediate disqualification and a potentially a lifetime ban.

Environment: We are good stewarts of our environment, we will “Leave No Trace” and respect the environment.
