It was a beautiful, sunny fall day on the Mississippi River as 13 boats launched out of Clayton. With water temperatures lingering in the 60s, the classic fall feeding frenzy hadn’t quite kicked into high gear yet, but several anglers still found ways to put quality fish in the boat.
Only two teams managed to bring a full five-fish limit to the scales while also putting fish on the photo board: Tim Dieter (fishing solo) and the team of Tracy Adams and Zach Borders. Tim Dieter’s five-fish bag locked in at 11.15 lbs, securing him the tournament victory alongside 3rd Place Photo. Tracy and Zach put together a solid day of their own, taking home 3rd Place Overall and 2nd Place Photo.
Meanwhile, the team of Tim Fiedler and Dave Flury Jr. proved that quality beats quantity. Landing just four fish all day (two weighable and two photo-card fish), they maximized every bite. Dave landed the undisputed Big Fish of the Day—a chunky 27¾-inch giant weighing in at 7.67 lbs. Backed by a solid kicker fish, their heavyweight catch propelled them into 2nd Place Overall and took top honors for 1st Place Photo.
